Content and Never Satisfied

Today was absolutely gorgeous. The groundhog may be out of a job next year. ;) Life is good. Even if I could transport myself to the "most perfect moment", though...I think there would be a little part of me that would be just short of c o m p l e t e l y satisfied. I keep asking the Lord to make me satisfied with Him, but maybe He wants to keep me wanting more. I like how C.S. Lewis puts it:

******* *************** ********* **** ************

“If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

"It was when I was happiest that I longed most...The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing...to find the place where all the beauty came from."
