Why Betwain?

“The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” --Mark Twain

I fell in love with the wise wisecracks of Mark Twain in college.

Since then, I've been intrigued by this idea of depth sounding--measuring depth-- that captains do. In the 1850s, Samuel Clemens marked a new life when he called out "mark twain," signaling a depth of two.
